My name is Dilan Gilluly and welcome to my site. By day I’m a tier 2/3 tech support representative and by night I like to tinker with technology, exercise, and read.
The projects that I work on and wish to make public are available on Github here .
On top of being handy in a technological sense, I am a Christian and engage in theological discussions sometimes. For those who maybe reading this and want to know what Christianity is about, check out the downloadable PTL I can offer you at PTL.org .
Some content I post will be available here on this site, so feel free to browse around.
What do I stand for
A list of the following causes that I stand for:
- Right to Repair
- Likely the only hill I’ll die on politically, but I believe that people should have a right to repair what they want, however they want to as long as it doesn’t pose a danger to others.
- Security and Privacy
- I feel that people should have some expectation of privacy when doing things on their computers or devices when it doesn’t involve posting publicly on the internet.
- Censorship
- Unless something is objectively harmful, I don’t believe that it should be censored from the internet.
- Liberty
- I believe that adults should be able to do what they want to do as long as they’re not objectively harming others. This includes both physical activities and those conducted online. As well as choosing what device you want to use. I am not a device supremacist, nor do I try to “recruit” others to use the same devices I do unless I have a good reason to do so (like if someone asks for a recommendation)

Oppose Age Verification
Sometimes it seems as though with every new day there is a new government overreach. In this case it comes at the hands of some new Digital ID legislation which is passing in mostly-red states. The way that it’s currently being drafted, signed, and enforced is the most problematic part of it.Posted at 2025 Oct 29 at 10:58AM
Why Kosa is Bad
In this article I just wanted to mention why KOSA (Kid’s Online Safety Act) would be bad for the internet if it’s passed. Just to make this available for those who prefer written articles and to have it be a more consistent link that can be shared. First of all: I am someone who believes that children should be able to be safe online. But I know enough about the internet and technology in general to understand that over-regulation can harm the internet as well. So here goes.Posted at 2025 Aug 01 at 05:21PM
Only Part of the Story
One of the reasons why I get frustrated reading the tech news is that there are often wild inaccuracies in a lot of different articles, usually on the account of sponsorships. It’s both a blessing and a curse to know as much as I do about technology. Well, in this case it’s more on the curse side. And now a lot of the inaccuracy I spot in the advent of the newly publicized 16-billion leak is half-truths spun up and over emphasized to sell more subscriptions.Posted at 2025 Jun 22 at 01:00PM
It Shows
As of April 29th, 2025, Microsoft has bragged about “as much as 30%” of their code is written in AI. And in the scope of things, I’m not sure if it’s something they should be bragging about. Article about AIPosted at 2025 Jun 16 at 05:42PM
I wrote this a little bit later but decided to post this on my website as well. On December 2nd, 2024; I lost my beloved Butterscotch to chronic kidney disease. She will be missed. This article is for her memory.
